Benjamin Harbaugh is the greenhouse manager for the RIPE project at the University of Illinois. For the project, he oversees experiments in the greenhouse and field trials and provides necessary training for the researchers. He contributes to the maintenance and management of the RIPE projects through propagation of transformed plants, seed collection, and organization. Ben graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, with a bachelor’s degree in forestry.

The LongLab is supported by many public and private partnerships, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, the UK Government's Department for International Development, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy.
