| |Research Project: Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproduct Innovation (CABBI)
Nam Kyu Kang is a postdoctoral research associate in the Ort Lab at the University of Illinois. He is interested in the production of bioproducts from carbon dioxide using microalgae. For the Ort Lab, he is setting up microalgal genetic engineering and cultivation systems. Nam Kyu earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Sunkyunkwan University and went on to earn his doctorate in chemical and biomolecular engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Advanced Biomass R&D Center where he bioengineered microalgae. His work has been published in several journals including Biotechnology for Biofuels, Biotechnology and Bioengineering, and Bioresource Technology.
