Research Project: Renewable Oil Generated with Ultraproductive Energycane (ROGUE)

Moonsub Lee is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois. Moonsub is investigating how plants grow and develop in response to different environmental conditions. For ROGUE, he is focusing on improving the photosynthetic performance of energycane for bioenergy production. He earned his bachelor's degree in crop sciences and master's degree in agronomy from Chungnam National University in South Korea. Moonsub then went on to earn his doctorate in crop sciences from the University of Illinois. His work is published in many peer-reviewed journals, including Frontiers in Plant Science, PloS One, and Transgenic Research

The Ort Lab is supported by many public and private partnerships, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, the UK Government's Department for International Development, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy.
