Lauana Pereira de Oliveira is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her main research objective is to increase the productivity of different soybean varieties via genetic modification. She is enhancing both the bioengineering and molecular and physiological phenotyping aspects of the RIPE project with her expertise in molecular biology, biochemical assays, physiological measurements, bioinformatics, and data analysis. She received her bachelor’s in biological sciences from the Federal Institute of Piauí, her master’s in ecology and natural resources from the Federal University of Ceará, and her doctorate in plant biotechnology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, before coming to do her postdoc in plant physiology and bioengineering at the University of Illinois. Her work has been published in Environmental and Experimental BotanyScientific Reports, and BioEnergy Research.
