Manwinder grew up in a small village, Rajiana, in Punjab region of India. He completed his Bachelors in Agriculture at Punjab Agricultural University in 2019 and moved to the US for graduate school in August 2019. He worked on leaf senescence during his PhD in Dr. Rajandeep Sekhon's lab at Clemson University. Specifically, he studied genetic and metabolic regulators of senescence in maize and sorghum. His postdoctoral work will focus on identifying genetic regulators of water use efficiency.
